Western Lakes

 

Lake Elingamite

Steven O'Keefe

Steve O’Keefe of Geelong Fishing Trips and Charters fished Lake Elingamite near Cobden on several occasions where he caught thirteen Brown Trout, the biggest went 2 kg, and a single Rainbow Trout of 2.08 kg. All of his fish were taken on mudeyes.

 

 

 

 

Lake Purrembete

Doug Lucas reports that rainbow trout to 1.2 kg and brown trout to 2.5 kg trolled Lofty lures in the pink colours, while fly-fishermen are having the mosy success when fishing woolly bugger flies on sinking fly lines.

 

 

 

 

 

Lake Bullen Merri

Doug again reports that Bullen Merri is producing rainbow trout to a kilo on powerbait and earthworms.

 

 

 

 

Lake Wurdi Boluc

This lake is currently producing redfin to 1.5 kg and brown trout to 3 kilos on bladed lures and smelting flies.
